The Rock/Kilcavan 2-4
Portlaoise 1-1
There was plenty of endeavour and no shortage of spirit from the Portlaoise boys in Kilcavan yesterday morning in the U13 Football Development League – Round 3, as they put in a wholehearted display against a strong The Rock/Kilcavan side.
Despite the final scoreline favouring the hosts, this was a contest that saw the Town compete well throughout, showing good work rate, determination and some encouraging passages of play. The foundations are clearly there, with the group continuing to develop and learn with each outing.
In development football at this age, the focus is firmly on progress, and there was plenty to take from this performance. A valuable morning’s work and one that will stand to the lads as the campaign continues.
On to the next one.
