U13 Hurling League Div 1A: Portlaoise v Castletown

Portlaoise 4-10
Castletown 1-4

Portlaoise continued their strong form in the U13 Hurling League Division 1A with an excellent win away to Castletown yesterday evening in Round 5.

Played in Castletown, The Town produced a lively and hard-working display from the opening whistle, showing great sharpness in attack while also defending well throughout the field.

Portlaoise settled into the game quickly and began to build momentum with some well-worked scores. Good movement, accurate striking and strong teamwork helped create a number of scoring opportunities, while the defence worked tirelessly to limit the space available to the home side.

The visitors carried a strong threat in front of goal and their ability to convert chances proved decisive over the course of the game. Despite facing determined resistance from Castletown, Portlaoise continued to work hard around the middle third and kept the pressure on throughout both halves.

Castletown battled well and managed to raise a goal of their own, but Portlaoise remained composed and finished the game strongly with another series of excellent scores.

Overall, it was a very encouraging team performance with plenty of skill, determination and teamwork on display from the Portlaoise players.

Well done to all players and management on another fine result.
