Our Minor footballers lost out to a strong Mountmellick Parish Gaels side in Rathleague yesterday evening.

Playing against the wind in the opening half, The Town produced some excellent football, showing plenty of patience and composure. They were the better side for much of the half and went into the break with a well-deserved three-point lead.

Unfortunately, our lads couldn’t replicate that performance after the restart. Mountmellick Parish Gaels dug deep, took control of the contest and ultimately came away with the victory.

To their credit, The Town never gave up and continued to contest every ball right through to the final whistle.

Hard luck to the players and management team on the night. Next up is Na Fianna Óg on Sun 20th Sep at 11:30am.
