Built by Volunteers: Keith Hughes

“I volunteer because it’s incredibly rewarding to watch young players grow in confidence, friendship and teamwork from nursery level upwards. Coaching alongside other parents also helps strengthen the sense of community within the club and builds lasting connections for the future.”

Keith Hughes – U8 Girls Coach

As part of National Volunteer Week, we will be highlighting some of the incredible volunteers who help make Portlaoise GAA what it is.

Over the coming days, we’ll be sharing stories from people across the club and hearing in their own words why they volunteer, what the club means to them, and the role community plays in The Town.

From coaches and mentors to committee members, organisers, supporters and helpers behind the scenes, our club simply would not function without the time, energy and dedication of volunteers.

We look forward to shining a light on the people who continue to give so much to Portlaoise GAA.
