Next week marks National Volunteer Week and we want to take a moment to recognise and thank every single volunteer who helps make Portlaoise GAA Club what it is.
From coaches, mentors and committee members, to referees, stewards, grounds staff, Town Lotto sellers, photographers (young and old), event organisers, fundraisers and everyone who gives their time in any way, your contribution to our club is invaluable.
Behind every training session, every match, every blitz and every event is a group of volunteers quietly giving their time, energy and skills for the benefit of others and for the good of the club.
Quite simply, without volunteers our club would not exist.
Since our foundation in 1887, Portlaoise GAA Club has always been built on volunteerism, community spirit and people pulling together for the good of The Town. Generations of members have given their time freely to help build, develop and strengthen the club for those who followed after them, and that spirit remains at the heart of everything we do today.
We are incredibly grateful to all those who continue to give up evenings, weekends and countless hours throughout the year to help provide opportunities for our players, members and wider community across all sections of the club.
Thank you for continuing to make Portlaoise GAA Club such a special place.
An Baile Abú!! 🤍💚
