Portlaoise opened their LOETB LGFA U14 ‘A’ Championship campaign in impressive fashion last night with a commanding 3-18 to 0-0 victory over Sarsfields in Round 1.
From the outset, Portlaoise played with great intensity, moving the ball confidently and creating scoring opportunities throughout the contest. Their disciplined defending ensured they kept Sarsfields scoreless, while an excellent spread of attacking play saw them finish with an impressive tally of 3-18.
It was an encouraging all-round team performance and the perfect way to begin the championship campaign.
Attention now turns to Round 2, where Portlaoise will face St. Conleth’s in Courtwood GAA on Thursday, 23rd July.
Well done to the players and management on an excellent start to the championship.
