A hard fought championship opener in O’Moore Park this evening saw Portlaoise start the year in positive fashion as they defeated Ballyfin by 3 points.
Liam Conroy came of age with a couple of vital goals in either half, and he was a handful for the opposition all night long. Young Davy Delaney on his championship debut impressed in general play and contributed some nice scores.
Great to see Cian Taylor back in action and he worked tirelessly alongside his brother Sean Luke in the middle of the park.
Well done to Pat Critchley and his team and staff on a winning start to the championship.
