Portlaoise recorded an impressive 2-15 to 1-4 victory over Camross yesterday evening in Round 5 of the U15 Hurling League Division 1A.

Playing with the aid of the wind in the opening half, Portlaoise produced a dominant display and went in at the break leading 1-11 to 1-1 after a strong all-round team performance.

Fionn Delaney raised the first Portlaoise green flag during the opening period, while Jack Reilly added a second-half goal as the visitors maintained control throughout the contest.

Camross continued to battle throughout and worked hard to stay in contention, but Portlaoise’s consistency, work rate and sharp finishing ultimately proved decisive.

Overall, it was another encouraging display from the Portlaoise side as they continue their league campaign.
