Portlaoise edged out Park Ratheniska in a lively and competitive encounter in Ratheniska on Friday evening in round 3 of the U13 Football League Div 1A, coming through by the narrowest of margins after a well-contested hour.

In a game that saw both sides trade scores throughout, it was Portlaoise’s ability to build a strong tally of points that ultimately proved decisive against a Ratheniska side that made the most of their goal chances. The Town showed good composure in possession and worked hard to keep the scoreboard moving at crucial stages.

There was no shortage of effort from either side, with the contest remaining in the balance right to the final whistle. Portlaoise’s resilience and work rate saw them get over the line in what was a hard-fought and deserved result.
