Portlaoise got their LOETB LGFA U14 ‘C’ Championship campaign off to the perfect start last night with a deserved 6-5 to 1-5 victory over Timahoe LFC in Round 1 at Timahoe GAA Club.
Portlaoise settled into the game quickly, producing some excellent passages of football and taking their scoring chances well. A strong defensive display provided the platform for an impressive attacking performance, with six goals helping to secure a comfortable opening-round win.
It was an encouraging all-round display from the squad as they began their championship journey with two valuable points.
Attention now turns to Round 2, where Portlaoise will take on St. Conleth’s in Courtwood GAA on Thursday, 23rd July.
