Built by Volunteers: Dennis Tynan

“I volunteer because it allows me to give something back to a club that means an awful lot to me. Seeing the community spirit within the club, and watching players develop as athletes and people is very rewarding. The entire ethos of the GAA is built around volunteers, and Portlaoise GAA club is the very embodiment of that.”

Dennis Tynan – Club Archivist

As part of National Volunteer Week, we will be highlighting some of the incredible volunteers who help make Portlaoise GAA what it is.

Over the coming days, we’ll be sharing stories from people across the club and hearing in their own words why they volunteer, what the club means to them, and the role community plays in The Town.

From coaches and mentors to committee members, organisers, supporters and helpers behind the scenes, our club simply would not function without the time, energy and dedication of volunteers.

We look forward to shining a light on the people who continue to give so much to Portlaoise GAA.
