Built by Volunteers: Ed O’Dwyer

“I volunteer because because it brings people together, builds community spirit, and encourages young people to grow in confidence and resilience. It’s rewarding to give back to a community that welcomed me with open arms over 20 yrs ago and to be part of something that means so much to so many”

Ed O’Dwyer – Fir Aclaí

As part of National Volunteer Week, we will be highlighting some of the incredible volunteers who help make Portlaoise GAA what it is.

Over the coming days, we’ll be sharing stories from people across the club and hearing in their own words why they volunteer, what the club means to them, and the role community plays in The Town.

From coaches and mentors to committee members, organisers, supporters and helpers behind the scenes, our club simply would not function without the time, energy and dedication of volunteers.

We look forward to shining a light on the people who continue to give so much to Portlaoise GAA.
