A much improved performance this evening in Ballyfin saw our minor footballers take their first points of the league campaign. 

Portlaoise played some very good football at times using quick transition from defence to attack. At half-time the Town went in with an 8 point lead. 

Portlaoise looked always in control of this game and an early point and goal on the resumption of the second half saw our lads extend this lead. To their credit Ballyfin kept playing with some good play and scores. 

In the end Portlaoise would not be caught and ran out 8 point winners.
