“I volunteer because it allows me to give back to a place that means a lot to me and allows me to be part of my local community.
As it’s many years since I’ve played, it allows me stay involved in a sport that I love and build strong friendships. It brings a great sense of pride to be part of such a great club and its successes”
Lorraine McCormack – Child Welfare Officer
As part of National Volunteer Week, we will be highlighting some of the incredible volunteers who help make Portlaoise GAA what it is.
Over the coming days, we’ll be sharing stories from people across the club and hearing in their own words why they volunteer, what the club means to them, and the role community plays in The Town.
From coaches and mentors to committee members, organisers, supporters and helpers behind the scenes, our club simply would not function without the time, energy and dedication of volunteers.
We look forward to shining a light on the people who continue to give so much to Portlaoise GAA.
