ACHL Div 4: Portlaoise 3-16 v Trumera 0-24

Portlaoise 3-16
Trumera 0-24

Portlaoise came through a closely fought encounter in Trumera this evening, edging a one-point victory in an entertaining Round 5 clash.

In a game that remained in the balance throughout, Trumera’s accuracy from placed balls and open play kept them narrowly in front for long stretches. However, Portlaoise stayed composed and within striking distance, showing good patience and work rate across the field.

The decisive moments arrived in the second half, when well-taken goals from Mark Stritch and Eoghan Nealon swung the momentum in favour of the Town. Those scores ultimately proved the difference in a contest where fine margins were always likely to decide the outcome.

Trumera responded strongly and pushed hard in the closing stages in search of an equaliser, but a disciplined and determined defensive effort from Portlaoise saw them hold firm under pressure.

A hard-earned win for the Town juniors in a competitive and well-contested game.
