Built by Volunteers: James Brown

“I volunteer because I’m proud to give a bit back to the club that stood with me through the hardest time of my life. David loved Rathleague, GAA and hurling, so it means a lot to be able to help out and support the club that meant so much to him and to us.“

James Brown – Committee Member

As part of National Volunteer Week, we will be highlighting some of the incredible volunteers who help make Portlaoise GAA what it is.

Over the coming days, we’ll be sharing stories from people across the club and hearing in their own words why they volunteer, what the club means to them, and the role community plays in The Town.

From coaches and mentors to committee members, organisers, supporters and helpers behind the scenes, our club simply would not function without the time, energy and dedication of volunteers.

We look forward to shining a light on the people who continue to give so much to Portlaoise GAA.
