Club Identity Assets

Club Crest

The Portlaoise club crest is made up of four main visual sections on a shield with two separate text sections, one above and one below the shield.

At the top of the crest above the shield written in Irish is CLG Portlaoise. CLG is an initialism for Cumann Lúthchleas Gael which translated means Gaelic Athletic Association which Portlaoise have been a member since 1887. 

Top left: 2 black and white magpies facing to the right standing on green grass. 

Top right: 2 crossed brown hurls/hurleys/camán with a black band above the bas and a white sliotar with two black bands in between sitting on green grass.

Bottom left: 9 panelled black outlined white Gaelic football on green grass. 

Bottom right: Grey Tower Hill church steeple ruin with black outlines. 

Below the shield is a traditional symmetrical white scroll with black text in Irish which reads Gaelach i gCroi agus in Aigne which translates as Gaelic in Heart and Spirit
