Town Óg Boy's Football
U7- U12

Here at Portlaoise GAA, we’re mad about both Gaelic Football and Hurling, and in Town Óg, we make sure the young lads get a good crack at both! Our U7 to U11 boys get stuck into the two codes with split sessions between football and hurling, so every child gets the chance to give both a go and see where their grá for the game takes them.
We follow the Go Games model, which means no big scores or fierce competition, just plenty of touches, plenty of fun, and plenty of chances to learn. No matter what level a young lad is at, there’s a place for him on the team, with equal playing time for everyone. It’s all about building skills, getting the hang of the game, and making great friends along the way.
Our Town Óg sessions are full of energy, focusing on the basics of football and hurling, fundamental movement skills, and, most importantly, having the craic while playing! We strongly encourage our boys to play both codes, as it helps them sharpen their skills, stay fit, and enjoy the best of what Gaelic Games has to offer.
All our coaches are Garda vetted and have done the child protection and GAA coaching courses, so you can be sure the boys are in safe hands.
We’re always on the lookout for new players, so if your son fancies getting out on the pitch, learning a few tricks, and having great fun, bring him down!
Below, you’ll find team contact details for each age group. If you want to sign him up or find out more, give the lead coach or mentor a shout for the right age group.
Come on down and get stuck in, Town Óg is where the future of Portlaoise GAA begins!
