Poem

The Auld Timer

A gentleman in every sense, Revered and loved by all whom he knew, With iron wrists and a lions heart, A Town legend, through and through.

A leader on the field of battle, County titles as captain, he won four, A full-back for the ages, His legend will live on, forever more.

One of the all-time greats of the Town, In stories we tell and songs that we sing, Never, will we forget, ‘The Auld Timer’, the great John Joe Ging.
