Poem
In Portlaoise we don't select, We are more into connect. We started off being active and having fun, The club got together for a walk and a run.
Tea and coffee we did include, And all our members were in a great mood. Stage two required us to take note, This would definitely float our boat.
Yoga and Zumba we did do, Only puffing and panting from a few. Stage 3 we had to Give, Easy for us, we love where we live.
Referees gave their time, And we had Noel McGrath tell us how to shine. Volunteers were in the spotlight, Showing how we give with all our might.
Stage 4 we had to learn, And in return good health we'd earn. Our senior girls taught our younger crew, This was something great to do.
Mentors, coaches and parents were there, Each and everyone showing they care. Stage five is where we come together, Just like birds of a feather.
GPO Shane was really cool, He became a great link with the school. Christy Bannon connected us to "SOSAD" And a great fundraiser we had.
The Ukrainian appeal was a great success, And this helped to link and ease the people's stress. Our mother's & others are part of the craic, And in skill and determination they do not lack.
Our all stars are just the best, They always link in and never take a rest. Next up was to connect community with club, Where our members played music in return for some grub.
This fun event is on every Saturday, And people try their luck and for the lotto do pay. In our club we are full of pride, There's a place for everyone no need to hide.
We put together a great tiktok and rhyme, To cheer our County in the all Ireland climb. We all came together in the blue and white, To show together we can reach great height.
We acknowledge Lidl for their friendly face, And giving refreshments for after the race. Thanks to the LGFA for getting us on our way, We really appreciate it every day.
Jigsaw helped us to put all the pieces together, So we could all come out of this much better. A big thank you to those that oversee, A special thanks to our committee.
This was a brilliant competition, It's great to see Portlaoise get the recognition. We no longer have a frown, We just shout Come on the Town.
We're now active and all that can be seen, Is positive and healthy wellbeing All that's left to say Is it's ONE GOOD CLUB all the way!
