Winning Years
1965, 1987, 1993, 2013;
Portlaoise GAA Club has lined out in six Laois Senior A Hurling Championship finals, winning four of them. Our first win came in 1965, when we got the better of Camross, finishing 4-03 to 2-05. The most recent title was in 2013, after a solid victory over Clough-Ballacolla, 1-14 to 0-08.
In the late 1940s, Rovers, a GAA club based in Portlaoise, along with Kilminchy, joined forces with Portlaoise to play under the Portlaoise GAA name. We’ve included Rovers’ achievements here as part of the club’s wider story.
Rovers claimed one Junior A Championship in 1945, beating Kyle on a scoreline of 3-07 to 1-02.
